Our weekend run technique program specialises in fundamental, corrective and advanced running techniques. Athletes coached through our athlete-centric run program find PB’s and fast running off the bike in triathlon and improve their understanding about the relationship between stride range and stride rhythm (the two R’s) which are key in delivering fast run splits off the bike at the business end of a triathlon event.
Form follows function
Every athlete is individual and Fiona’s athlete-centric training system will help you discover efficiency, strength and speed in your running form. Our technical training sessions on the track are limited to a small group so coaching can be tailored to the individual. You’ll have your run technique assessed so that your drill, skill and pacing work is specific to you and distances you are training for whether that be Standard, Sprint or middle distance and Ironman triathlon. We place a high emphasis on athlete education to improve performance metrics such as cognitive awareness, coordination, functional strength, balance and sustainable speed, so you will have some homework to do each week!
Learn how to improve your run mechanics to reprogram inefficiency, poor form and habits to ensure you move fast just as you were designed to run. Coached run technique is a laser focused method to increase your sustainable run speed for endurance or multisport, where running off the bike at the end of a race and sustaining form when fatigued separates performance from participation.
Been injured?
Working with Fiona and benefitting from her experience in returning to triathlon after serious life changing injuries provides a first-hand opportunity to be coached through run rehabilitation. Fiona’ published book and story has helped many athletes return from serious or minor injuries into pre-training. She uses a progressive approach back into a full running load, to ensure it’s a one way trip from a biomechanical, stress, accidental or overuse injury. Her book published in 2015 ‘Back On Track’ containing elements of the program in Chapter 10 can be found on this link.
