Our Thursday evening run technique program is led by master Athletics coach Tremay Dobson. Tremay, or ‘Dobo’ specialises in fundamental, corrective and advanced running techniques. Athletes from this program find PB’s and fast running off the bike in triathlon, when they improve their understanding about stride range and rhythm.
Running with Tremay and learning how to improve your run mechanics helps you reprogram inefficiency, poor form or habits to ensure you move fast just as you were designed to run. Coached run technique is proven way to increase your sustainable run speed for endurance or multisport, where sustaining form when fatigued separates performance from participation.
Form follows function
Every athlete is different. All drills are not prescribed in the same way. Have your your run technique assessed, and the drill and technical work assigned to you as an individual based on what you need to discover your best run form. Attend regularly and you’ll find an effective way to improve your awareness as you run, coordination, run strength and sustainable speed.
Tremay is also very experienced in run rehabilitation, helping athletes return from serious or minor injuries into pre-training. He uses a progressive approach back into a full running load, to ensure it’s a one way trip from a biomechanical, stress, accidental or overuse injury.
